Research Project
Wetsuit Weapon
For scientist to use for protection underwater from shark attack.
Team Remarks
Issues discovered during internet research
In some areas of the world it is illegal to shoot animals underwater with a speargun.
Blood in the water might attract more sharks. Could start a feeding frenzy.
The weapon could provide some time for the scientist to quickly get out of the water after firing a shot.
The weapon could have alternate attachments:
Sharp point for maximum damage.
Grappling hook for grabbing items for retrieval with a rope attachment.
Blount point to startled the shark but not harm it. No blood in the water.
Titus - Underwater Tools
A dive knife - Is a general tool for scuba divers. Occasionally used to cut entangled fishing line or to rap on the tank to get their buddy's attention.
Repair Tools - Hex keys, screw drivers, brass O-ring pack, and Schrader valve tool.
Air Tank - Provides air underwater for the scuba driver.
Mesh Bag - Used to collect trash on the ocean floor.

7. Free Driving Computer, 8. Gloves, 9. Air and Pressure Gauge, 10. Knife
Alex - Suggested that our research-project-presentation to the judges be a play.
One (or two) team member(s) dress up like a shark and the others deploy all of our various attachments of the wetsuit weapon.
All others are scuba divers with different attachments. They explain, one at a time, how their attachment is useful to ocean scientists.
Finn - Scuba Diving Tools and Equipment
Scuba Oxygen Tank - Hold air in it.
Regulator - Connects with the Scuba Tank and allows you to breath.
Diving Mask - Helps you see underwater.
Wet Suit/Dry Suit - A suit that keeps you comfortable and protected under water.
Fins - Helps you propel you through the water.
BCD - Buoyancy Control Device - Helps you float, ascend or descend.
Surface Marker Buoy - An inflatable tube that lets people on boats or other divers know that you are there.
Dive Light - Helps you see underwater in dark places.
Tank Bangers - An elastic cord and plastic ball that attaches to your oxygen tank. The device helps you get the attention of the other divers.
Dive Compass - Helps you know where you are going and also helps you find your way back to the boat (or starting point).
